Shehan Ambepitiya was able to grab his 3rd gold medal at the Youth Commonwealth Games today. As I've mentioned in my previous post he was able to win the 200m race with a time of 21.27seconds.
Updates about the Youth Commonwealth Games have been really poor. No proper web site is available to get the latest results. Even Sri Lankan online news sites take few hours to update their sites about these wins.
Shehan's 3 gold medals are the only medals won by Sri Lanka at the games, up to now.
This win gives Sri Lanka a big hope of future international gold medals.
Shehan we are proud of you!

Sri Lankan sprinter Shehan Ambeypitiya made Sri Lanka proud by winning 100 M gold medal in youth commonwealth games 2008 in India on Wednesday.
Few minutes ago he helped Sri Lankan youth relay team to win 4x100m relay also by giving one of the best runs at the later part of the race.
He set up a new commonwealth youth games record by finishing 100m in 10.43s. And he has beaten several of classy young athletics from other countries including Jamaica, Barbados.
He is looking forward to win 200m as well.

Shehan Ambeypitiya is a student of Gateway international school. He was marked out as the Most Outstanding Athlete (boys) followed by his excellent performance at the National School Games at the Sugathadasa Stadium recently. He set up a new meet record of 100m in 10.58s at the 100m event.
Will Shehan Ambepitiya be the next Olympic hope in Sri Lankan athletic arena ?
